Cedron

Cedron starts gaining a good starch yield early, already in mid-August, especially using pre-sprouted seeds.

Variety characteristic:

Cedron is a plant of medium height with a compact canopy. The seed can be pre-sprouted before planting. A crop becomes technologically mature already in mid-August. During this time, tubers detach from the stolons easily and starch content is good. As an early processing variety, Cedron it is also used, mainly at the beginning of the harvest period, as a raw material for the production of crisps.

Site requirements:

Cedron has high demands to soil quality and water supply. Under optimal water circumstances during the growing season and the absence of water stress Cedron sets a lot of starch, much more than the indicated average value. Fertilization should be adjusted to the planned direction of use and harvest date. An excess of nitrogen may extend vegetation of plants and may reduce the starch content.
