Surmia

Very rapid initial development in both canopy and tubersize. A good yield performance with well-shaped, attractive tubers. A pleasant full potato flavour – already 40 days after emergence.

Variety characteristic:

Surmia is designed for a very early harvest. Surmia is an extra early ware potato and due to its low and stiff haulm is promoted for cultivation under plastic/fibretex. Its light sprout is thick and strong. Inflorescence is scarce. Its initial development is very rapid with a very good ridge covering soon after emergence. The yield of first earlies obtained 40 days after emergence is impressive. Surmia forms rather few and big sized tubers high in the ridge. The well-shaped tubers attract with an excellent “potato flavour”. It is possible to obtain a satisfactory yield in the second half of May.
