Variety characteristic:

Piwonia is a very early ware variety destinated for a very early harvest. It is perfectly suited for pre-sprouting and for cultivation under a plast/fibertex. It forms an extremely strong and a thick light sprout. Piwonia is a medium height plant with a rapid foliage development. It builds a compact and low canopy with a very good leaf health. It is characterized by a scarce inflorescence. It forms middle number of tubers middle in the ridge. Piwonia reveals a brilliant marketable yield during early harvest (112 % compared to the reference variety). Piwonia distances other varieties in terms of tuber appearance. Their middle-sized tubers are homogenous and are characterized by an uniform grading. Unique brightness of the yellow, smooth skin and very shallow eyes are typical features of Piwonia. These features make the packed potatoes very attractive to the customer. The taste will surely satisfy a gourmet of the culinary B – slightly mealy type. It retains its taste until late spring.
