Rudawa

It distances other varieties in terms of starch accumulation that may reach as much as 23%. It gains at the same time a technological suitability for processing even in the second half of September.

Variety characteristic:

Rudawa is a plant of medium height. The outstanding attribute of this variety is its excellent resistance to PVY virus, which proves the excellent leaf health. Rudawa distances other varieties in terms of accumulating a large amount of starch, even above 23%, and obtaining at the same time a  technological suitability for processing. A crop becomes technologically mature and ready for harvest already in the second half of September. During this time, tubers detach from the stolons easily. Together with the high yield potential, a very high starch yield from the plantation is obtained.

Site requirements:

Rudawa has middle demands to soil quality, water supply and fertilization. To use the full yield potential of the variety, an adequate supply of water is needed. Fertilization should be adjusted to the planned direction of use and harvest date. An excess of nitrogen may extend vegetation of plants and may reduce the starch content.
