Skawa

Skawa takes first place in seed distribution among starch varieties in Poland.

Variety characteristic:

Skawa is is a tall plant with a very good leaf health. Skawa comes up with a full resistance to PVY and with an excellent resistance to late blight in the foliage. With Skawa you choose a variety that provides a very high starch yield. Under optimal circumstances Skawa accumulates much more starch than the indicated average value. Skawa cumulates the most starch among all varieties from our breeding station. Skawa is undoubtedly the most popular starchy variety in Poland. Skawa is recommended to be planted across the country. It overwhelmingly meets the expectations of starch potato producers.

Site requirements:

Skawa has middle demands to soil quality and fertilization. To use the full yield potential of the variety, an adequate supply of water is needed. Fertilization should be adjusted to the planned direction of use and harvest date. An excess of nitrogen may extend vegetation of plants and may reduce the starch content.
